NOVUS Origins and HistoryDuring the 1970s in the United States of America, Dr. Frank Werner (who at the time owned and operated an aircraft instrumentation engineering company, called Rosemount Engineering) left the corporate world to focus on a strong passion for creating inventions. Dr. Werner, who had invented and patented the first Rosemount fitted buckle ski boots, founded Origin, Inc., which was a testing laboratory and commercial-physical research company in the state of Wyoming. After having three windshields replaced due to small breaks caused from the rough terrain of the Wyoming terrain, Dr. Werner went to work on finding a solution to fix breaks without having to replace the entire expensive windscreen. The combination of this curiosity, driven determination and with the help of chemical engineer Mr. Bill Wiele the pair developed what is acknowledged still today as the best method of windscreen glass repair. In 1972, Mr. Gerald Keinath bought the patent rights for windscreen repair, and then strategically designed a business plan that would enable all motorists to access this inexpensive, money saving windscreen repair to motorists and all. The company started as a home based business called Keinath Incorporated and the name was later changed to NOVUS – which is the Latin word for "new" or "innovative”. In 1985, NOVUS Auto Glass became a franchise company. For more than four decades, NOVUS Auto Glass has remained the industry's glass repair research and development pioneer. NOVUS Auto Glass has been awarded more U.S. Patents for windscreen repair than the rest of the windshield repair industry combined, and with the addition of NOVUS Auto Glass ' high quality, fully guaranteed windscreen replacement and other associated diversified services, NOVUS Auto Glass is able to support all consumer glass service needs. The phrase NOVUS ordo seclorum (Latin for "New Order of the Ages") appears on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States, first designed in 1782 and printed on the back of the American dollar bill since 1935.
